Arriving by car
Coming by car is the most comfortable option, especially in winter with ski and sledge luggage. Parking is available right at the house, free of charge.
From Dresden / Berlin
motorway A17 (Dresden–Prague), exit Bahratal / Altenberg,
then B170 towards Altenberg, then on towards Rehefeld-Zaunhaus.

From Chemnitz / Leipzig
motorway A4 to Dresden, then A17 towards Prague, exit Bahratal / Altenberg, B170 to Rehefeld-Zaunhaus. B173 Freiberg – Frauenstein – Hermsdorf – Altenberg.
From Prague (CZ)
motorway D8 towards Dresden, exit shortly before the border at Teplice, via Dubí – Zinnwald into the Eastern Ore Mountains, then on to Altenberg – Rehefeld-Zaunhaus.
Winter note
In winter we recommend winter tyres, and snow chains in heavy snowfall. The B170 is well cleared; the last few kilometres to Rehefeld-Zaunhaus can feel steeper after fresh snow. With four-wheel drive or winter tyres it is no problem.
Arriving by public transport
Rehefeld-Zaunhaus is easy to reach without a car too – though it takes a little more planning, especially on weekdays. At weekends and on public holidays there is a direct connection from Dresden.
Direct connection Dresden Hbf → Altenberg in about 60 minutes – no changes. From Altenberg continue on bus 215 to Rehefeld-Zaunhaus (about 15 min., stop “Rehefeld-Zaunhaus Ort”).

Dresden Hbf → S-Bahn S1 towards Schöna to Heidenau → regional train to Altenberg (line RB 71) → bus 215 to Rehefeld-Zaunhaus.
Total journey approx. 90–110 min. · change at Heidenau or Pirna.

Bus 215, stop “Rehefeld-Zaunhaus Ort” – about 8 minutes on foot from there to the apartments.

From Dresden airport
S-Bahn S2 from Dresden airport to Dresden Hbf (about 22 min.), then WanderExpress RE 19 or RB 71 to Altenberg, then bus 215.
Total from the airport approx. 100–120 min.
Skis & luggage
Ski equipment is allowed on all VVO trains (a ski bag is recommended). With a lot of luggage or ski gear we would still suggest coming by car or taking a taxi from Altenberg (about 5 km).
Arriving by bike
Rehefeld-Zaunhaus can be reached on several signposted cycle routes from the Elbe valley and the wider region. The last kilometres into the Eastern Ore Mountains are hilly – but no problem for keen tourers and e-bikers.

There are plenty of spaces right at the house – free of charge and without booking. Suitable for trailers and larger vehicles too.

Pets
No pets are permitted in the apartments; assistance dogs are exempt and welcome. Good to know: this is a multi-family house – a small dog and three cats live here, and the cats go outdoors and roam the shared garden.
