Four factors

What the price depends on

Season

Demand is highest during school holidays and the winter high season. In the shoulder season it becomes noticeably cheaper – if you are flexible, spring and late autumn often offer the best periods.

Length of stay

Longer stays cost less per night. From one week, and again from one month, the nightly rate drops noticeably. The calendar takes this into account automatically.

Number of guests

Both apartments are designed for families – 67 m² for up to six, 85 m² for up to eight guests. The price is based on the actual occupancy, not the maximum.

Extras

A final cleaning fee and the visitor’s tax are added, a linen package is optional. All of it is already included in the total price shown – there are no surprises on arrival.

Included with the guest card

The visitor’s tax is not just a levy: in return you receive the guest card of the Altenberg holiday region, valid from your arrival day for everyone registered. A selection:

  • Sessellift Rehefeld – 10 % off day tickets at Winterwelt Rehefeld
  • Altenberger Wanderpass – €3 off, and €3 off the starter bag for children
  • Erlebnisberg Altenberg – 2 extra free tickets when buying a 6-ride toboggan card
  • Aussichtsturm Geisingberg – 50 % off admission
  • Skiverleih Sport Lohse Geising – 15 % from two hire days, 5 % in the sports shop
  • Wildpark Osterzgebirge – one cup of animal feed free

Plus around 14 further attractions and discounts in the region.

Without the card, none of this would exist:

  • in winter around 70 km of groomed cross-country and ski-hiking trails plus 15 km of winter walking paths
  • upkeep of the hiking and cycling network and the 12 therapeutic walking routes (about 55 km)
  • a free town tour on Mondays at 10:00 from the Altenberg tourist information office
  • a children’s holiday programme and weekly events at the Johannesbad Raupennest
  • advice at the tourist information office, free Wi-Fi and the Altenberg town library

The simplest way

The calendar shows the real price

No “from” price, no arithmetic, no table to add up: enter your dates and the number of guests, and the total appears – including final cleaning, visitor’s tax and, if you wish, the linen package. Exactly that amount is charged.

Two rates

Flexible or cheaper

Standard rate – cancellable

More than 30 days before arrival, cancellation is free of charge. After that a sliding scale applies, which relates solely to the accommodation price.

Saver rate – cheaper, but fixed

Noticeably cheaper, but the accommodation price is non-refundable. Worth it when your plans are settled.

In both rates: visitor’s tax, final cleaning and a booked linen package are always refunded in full on cancellation – these services simply do not arise if you do not arrive.

The exact scale is set out in the booking terms. If you are unsure whether the trip will go ahead, the standard rate is the better choice – or take out travel cancellation insurance.
